"Dia Dhuit" from Ireland

Last week, twenty fourth grade students from our school visited the Emerald Isle, Ireland. During this Erasmus+ language exchange, we completely immersed ourselves in Irish culture and made unforgettable experiences.

Each of us stayed with a host family in a small town called Carlow, near Dublin. We spent three mornings at our partner school, Tyndall College, where we got to know the Irish school system, which is very different from the Italian one. We were able to sit in on some English, Maths, Geography and even Irish lessons. "Dia Dhuit" - which means "hello" in Irish, is one of the Gaelic-phrases we learned.
But sitting in school was not all we did: we explored different cities like Waterford in the south of the country, Kilkenny and of course the capital: Dublin. We went bowling, to the cinema and climbed through an adventure park, even though the weather was very 'Irishy'.
Thanks to our local host families, we got a very authentic insight into Irish culture, food and way of life.
We had a great time on our trip and now we're back home with lots of experiences. We highly recommend everyone to take part in one of the upcoming language exchanges offered by our school. Don't miss this unique experience!
