In September when we decided to begin the exchange, we knew it would be challenging and demanding as it proved to be. Students and teachers have worked on the project “Fast fashion, child labour and deforestation” for the whole year organising synchronic and diachronic online activities, doing research on planned topics, having a platform “Padlet” where all the products and work were shared on both sides. Nevertheless, the best and most unforgettable memories began when we met each other in January in Bolzano and in May in Cologne. All in all, the most exciting and entertaining moment was when the students performed the fashion show presenting on the catwalk the clothes, they sewed by themselves after recycling their own clothes that were no longer in use.
We are proud of having organised this project since a crucial part of a real exchange is meeting each other and exchanging hospitality. This hospitality was demonstrated within the families that welcomed the students warmly in their homes and shared with them important knowledge of their culture.
Nel progetto Erasmus+ Colonia-Bolzano le classi coinvolte hanno collaborato utilizzando in modo continuo tre lingue: inglese, italiano e tedesco. Sono stati cinque giorni intensi, produttivi, ricchi di nuove esperienze ed emozioni. La permanenza presso le famiglie è stato un momento fondamentale, che ha permesso agli studenti coinvolti di vivere lo scambio a 360 gradi. Nell’arco di soli cinque giorni, infatti, i ragazzi non solo hanno lavorato ad un progetto, ma si sono calati profondamente nella realtà cittadina di una grande metropoli, hanno sperimentato una calorosa accoglienza all’interno delle famiglie, instaurando legami profondi. Alla partenza da Colonia è scappata anche qualche lacrima e molti sono stati invitati a tornare. Insomma le fatiche organizzative iniziali sono però state ricompensate da un grande arricchimento sul piano umano e culturale.
