Sharing the joy of reading English books

"The Story of Benjamin Button", "Around the World in 80 Days", "Love Story", "Robinson Crusoe" - nur einige der vorgestellten Bücher...

A friendly reading meeting recently took place between the students of S 2C, a second class at Middle School "Stifter," and T 4B, one of our fourth classes at Tourism High School. The event aimed to create an enriching experience for both groups. The meeting was hosted in the new multimedia classroom where the students from the middle school were greeted by their older counterparts with enthusiasm. Students engaged in icebreaker activities designed to encourage communication and collaboration. The heart of the encounter was the presentation of 11 books, all belonging to different genres. The meeting was not just about discussing the contents, characters, and themes of the books but also about participating in creative activities organized by our students who guided their younger peers, encouraging them to express their thoughts and feelings and learning from one another. The most appreciated story was "The Story of Benjamin Button," as the majority found it very interesting and gripping, followed by "Around the World in 80 Days," "The Pit and the Pendulum," "Love Story," and "Robinson Crusoe," which also piqued their interest. In the follow-up feedback, students expressed their satisfaction with the acquisition of new vocabulary, listening to engaging stories, and enjoying the buffet we organized for them. They would have preferred to stay longer to get to know the older students better. In fact, the younger students gained valuable insights and guidance from their older peers, while the high school students experienced the joy of mentoring and sharing their passion for reading. Literature brought people of different ages together, helped break down barriers between middle and high school students, and made a lasting impression, creating memories for everyone involved.
